Cambridge International Curriculum
At TERERAI TRENT INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, our curriculum is specifically designed within the Cambridge framework. It ensures that our students are thoroughly prepared for IGCSE and A-Level examinations, which are internationally recognized and widely accepted by universities and employers worldwide.

Tererai Trent International School Mandara Campus, we provide each student with focused attention and meaningful classroom engagement. We intentionally keep class sizes small, with no more than 15 students per class. This arrangement offers a more personalized, intensive learning experience, allowing teachers to spend one-on-one time with students while effectively implementing the Cambridge curriculum.

Sports and Extra Curricular Activities

Engaging in extracurricular activities directly boosts self-confidence, leading to greater success. Therefore, the after-school component of our curriculum is essential for our students’ academic and personal growth: Athletics strongly reinforce our culture of participation in the broadest sense.
Note: Tererai Trent International School mandates student participation in athletics. All students are required to participate in at least one interscholastic sport each year. Moreover, students must pass all classes to remain eligible for athletic participation.

Our Approach: Inquiry Based learning and 5 E models
Our approach focuses on Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) and the 5E Model, two educational frameworks that effectively promote deep understanding and critical thinking. By implementing these models, we aim to create interactive and engaging learning experiences that empower students to take charge of their own educational paths.
Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) is founded on the principle that students learn most effectively when they actively engage in the learning process. Rather than simply absorbing information, learners are encouraged to ask questions, conduct investigations, and tackle real-world problems. This model enhances critical thinking skills and fosters a sense of curiosity and a passion for learning. By providing an environment where students can explore their interests, IBL nurtures independent thinkers who are well-equipped to address complex challenges.
In conjunction with IBL, the 5E Model comprising Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate provides a structured approach for designing lessons that systematically enrich students’ comprehension of concepts. The “Engage” phase stimulates students’ interest and connects to prior knowledge, while the “Explore” phase allows for hands-on investigation of new ideas. The “Explain” phase encourages learners to articulate their understanding, and the “Elaborate” phase enables them to apply what they’ve learned in new contexts. Finally, the “Evaluate” phase facilitates assessment and reflection on their learning journey.
The decision to combine IBL and the 5E Model is based on how their strengths complement each other. IBL emphasizes inquiry and exploration, while the 5E Model provides a clear structure that ensures a comprehensive learning experience.
